I take back my article about The Sopranos having gone down the toilet. It was just to build-up the best finale in history.
Summary, big spoilerSo something has happened in the writing. The show was on a downward spiral, everyone had depressing stories. But then in this ending everything changed. The mood was lifted. AJ becomes happy again, blows up his car accidentally. Philly gets killed, and run over by his own car. Meadow is thinking of becoming a capitalist again. Paulie is back again, trying to hit the cat with the broom. The FBI guy is bored, watching terrorist propaganda, he gets the news Philly is dead and he chears up like i kid opening presents, "
We are going to win this thing!". Priceless. Just that one made all the last crappy episodes worth watching. Tony seems happy in his back yard, it's all we ask. Even uncle junior seemed upbeat.
Angry fansI have noticed online that people are angry about how the show ended with just a blank screen as Tony, AJ, Carmela and Meadow were sitting down for supper. But i say quit your whining this show is not made to fit your expectations it's more complex than bloodlust. The ending was clearly poking at your expectations for a slaying. Every second you were expecting a gun to go off, either by the white guy or the black guys. It was a classic buildup to action. But all you got was a black screen, priceless.
To tell you the truth though, if the rest of the episode hadn't been so hillarious i would be chanting for blood too.
